Patrick L. Thimangu, Arch Taekwondo’s master instructor and principal, led the demonstration team. Other members of  the group where Glennon Evans III, Stacy Newberry, David Rath, LaTonja Thomas and Benjamin Thimangu.

Arch Taekwondo, which is downtown St. Louis’ premier school of the Korean martial art and Olympic sport of Taekwondo, made its first appearance at Midtown Alley Street Festival’s inaugural last year. The studio is among several artistic and creative businesses that are helping Midtown Alley gain recognition as one of the fastest growing areas of the city of St. Louis.

Taekwondo, which means the way of the hand and foot, is a dynamic Korean martial art that
applies kicks, punches, blocks, footwork, evasive movement, joint locks and throws for self
defense against individual or multiple attackers. Arch Taekwondo provides teaching of the art and sport to adults, youth and children, helping the them develop mental and physical fitness within a formal setting where the five tenets of Taekwondo are stressed. The tenets are: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control and indomitable spirit.
